Preparing for the DALF C1 exam

Key facts about the exam

DALF C1 is the first level of the Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française. Issued by France Éducation International. Internationally recognized, it certifies an autonomous and experienced level of French.
Corresponds to CEFR level C1. Evaluates the four language skills with a more academic and professional approach. Tests last around 4 hours in total, with a 30-minute oral presentation.
Registration at accredited centers, generally more expensive than DELF. Examination over one or two days, group and individual tests. Score out of 100, minimum 50/100 to pass.
Demonstrates a thorough command of French in academic and professional contexts. Often required for teaching French abroad or for positions of responsibility in companies. Facilitates admission to grandes écoles and doctoral studies in French-speaking countries.
